I cleaned the engine compartment....by spraying 300 lbs of sand into it!  Gene Engine Blast 2.jpg (22613 bytes)

I've used between 800-1100 pounds of 30-mesh sand on this bus

so far, and I'm still not quite through with the blasting.

I then used my POR-15 (silver) as a primer...I figure that whatever I put on top will get dinged-up, oily, etc., but the metal beneath will be protected for at least a few good years....

I hope I have as much fun spraying the color in here as I did the POR-15.....

Go to: http://www.por15.com/index.html for more info on this awesome paint

The driver's side dogleg (front wheelwell) was bashed in pretty good....the previous owner had replaced the door, but I had this impossible-looking manglation (well it's a word now!!) of metal that had me stumped for some time.  Then I got all confidant-like and went for it.  I guess it worked!  The place that I cut it out of had a strange shape to it (the damage was not confined to the dogleg), but with a little more fiberglass-infested body filler and epoxy paste than I wanted to use, I think it came out all right.  Send me $20 and a negative comment, and maybe I'll mail you a chunk of it if/when it falls off.....
