'66 VW Westy....a quick preservation-type workover:   Interior

Links at page bottom

So, after much time thinking that I wasn't going to do it, I ripped out the camper interior and rotten, riddled-with-holes from the mad screwer side panels, and was immediately glad that I did...

I am not saying that this is bad, mind you, but it could have been very soon, so I did it the dubious honor "fixin' it"

What I ended up doing, for rust protection, and a small amount of noise and heat (cold) insulation, is to layer the cargo floor with rubberized (black) undercoating, then sealing that with that white rubberized sealer that is used on RV roofs (took a while to dry, that did!), and finally a layer of black "Hammerite" paint (on the floor only).

The plywood is protected by undercoating on  the bottom, and urethane on the top.....we'll see (I'm always experimenting)

It's not great work, and it's not "proper", but I think that the insulation, paneling, and flooring will do their jobs.....

The bus is protected from rust, and it looks a hell of a lot better than it did before I started...

The panels that I insulated (using both the aluminium bubble stuff and fiberglass) make a "thud" when tapped...the panels that are not insulated as much go: "bong"
