What:  A group of VW "enthusiasts" on a road trip

When:  The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of February, 2001

Where:  Northern California, from Guerneville to Mt. Shasta and back most circuitously

Why:   For the hell of it, 'cuz it's fun, to celebrate owning Vintage Volkswagens, why not?, etc....

How far:  Approx. 830 miles, give or take....(anyone know how to figure out how much an odometer is off by the amount
that the speedometer is off?) email me!
Thanks, Fred Stoermer!

Who's responsible?  It's Brian's fault....he started it!

Fuel Mileage: ('60 DC mileage only) I averaged about 21 mpg using 92 octane unleaded
Average Speed: Probably about 35 mph?....but hey, who's counting this stuff?!
Top Speed
: Approx. 70 mph (3800 rpm)

General Conditions:  Luckily, not too bad....we had fair weather for the driving-intensive days, and it was cold and threatening (not uncomfortably so) during our day around Mt. Shasta.  Roads were generally in good shape (better than Sonoma County average conditions, anyway).  Wind stayed down for the most part, and we were not influenced in a negative way by that omnipresent wintertime threat in the mountains:  tsunamis.
